Romania is one of the most beautiful country in the world. This country could offer so many things to do, places to see and plenty ways for fun and entertainment. Romania has all forms of relief: mountains, wild sea side area, Black Sea beaches, plateaus, valleys, meadows, plains, also has rivers, marshes, has rivers and Danube delta, has mud volcanoes, glacial lakes or caves and underground glaciers. In Romania there are few kinds of lakes: volcanic, glacial, periglacial, wind artificial lakes, karstic lakes, fluvial and marine morphological lakes, anthropic lakes, clasto-karstic lakes. In Romania we find over 3450 lakes starting to the Black Sea going up to the mountains area,1150 lakes being with anthropic origins, so, as a percentage of the country lakes occupy 1.05% of the territory of the country.
Several lakes are so wild and beautiful placed in amazing breathtaking landscapes. Many mountain lakes in the nature park is drawn from fairy tales and legends are shrouded in mystery. The only volcanic lake it is Sf ANA lake, which covers an area of 20 hectares and it’s 7 meters depth.
Sf. Ana lake it’s placed in Lazareni village area, Harghita county. Glacial and periglacial lakes are scattered in the alpine zone, where the relief was carved and shaped by glacial action. Glacial Balea lake placed in Fagaras mountains, Sibiu county ,is one of the most popular in Romania, because in the winter the time rise up during the cold season, Balea Ice Hotel.
Balea Ice Hotel it’s a bio resort made from ice blocks, being a wonderful way to spend time, holidays,Christmas or New Year Eve. Bucura lake and Zanoaga lake are placed in Retezat mountains, Hunedoara county, being called in right way the county of glacial lakes.
Bucura lake is the larggest glacial lake covering 8.8 hectares and Zanoaga lake is the deepest glacial lake 29 meters depth.
There are also lakes with therapeutic properties, mud therapy for rheumatism being for thousands of years used by our ancestors. I remember for their therapeutic properties,several lakes as:
